Michigan’s Pilot Libraries Go Live a Month Early, Statewide Response Strong
From Sonya Norris
Michigan’s pilot phase, which spanned September – December of 2009, completed its work a month ahead of schedule. The pilot phase consisted of five libraries that can be viewed here: http://michlibrary.org/michigans-plinkit-libraries. Each established a Plinkit site for their libraries as well as serving on the Advisory Committee. The committee created state-wide policies and procedures that were approved by State Librarian Nancy Robertson. The input of the pilot libraries/Advisory Committee contributed to a strong foundation for the program in Michigan.
Following on the heels of four Info Stops around the state to promote Plinkit, more than 40 Michigan libraries have applied to have a Plinkit site. We plan to begin adding new libraries this spring.
