Just follow the yellow brick road...
When I first began this journey into Plinkit land, I didn't have a clue and felt like I really had landed up in Oz. With words like Plinkit, Zope, ZMI interface, Plone being thrown out you would think you had been caught in a tornado and the house had landed on you. The first obstacle I had to overcome was installing a Linux server, which on any given day could be the good or bad witch of my story, but since I had experience with Unix that wasn't so bad and I had the help of many Plinikteer munchkins.
The first "road map" to my way back home was the Plinkit Administrator's manual. It's very well written and easy to follow and never leaves my desktop. It's gotten dog-eared in plenty of places.
The second “road map” I had was the Plinkit mailing list. I would cry for help and people would look into their crystal balls and have the answer. They are modern-day pioneers who have gone before me forging the way and I have the utmost respect for them and hope that in the future I can help someone else along the way. I have also done much R&D - no not Research and Development, but rip off and develop from the numerous other state's sites by using Firefox Web Developer tools and Firebug, which was suggested to me by one of the members.
What I'm really trying to say is, that I have never been alone or without ready access to help in my Plinkit implementation in Virginia. If you decide to join Plinkit, please realize that the support is phenomenal. It is as easy as "clicking" your email send button and you'll be home before you know it.
Now I getting ready to go on another adventure of how to add an IE6 png fix.
