Technical Group Minutes February 22, 2008
Attending: Steve Gregory -- CO, Holly Gordon -- TX, Bev Obert -- IL
Darci Hanning (OR) was not able to attend.
1. Short Status reports from each state
CO -- Kupu 1.4.7 contained some good and some annoying. Good at resizing images, but table odd. Some browsers are worse than others, and there is no spell checker (darn) See full report here : Kupu 1.4.7
IL -- having some problems with digital images not showing up. Possibly due to server move??
OR -- not available
TX -- lots of new sites; asked about IE7 issues, and Steve suggested this might be the pick-a-boo bug thing (*later decided it wasn't*)
2. Report from Steering Committee meetings
Meeting took place 1/25/08. Bev reported:
Joel is finishing up his work. The Steering committee aproved money for fixing the recurring events thing in the calendar and for custom skins, logos, color schemes. They also approved hiring a part time program coordinator. They also discussed the annual fees.
3. Report from Project Coor. meeting
Next meeting February 29, 2008
4. Status of products, etc. from Joel
No report this time, see e-mails from Darci
5. Outstanding items/issues from previous meetings:
a. Plinkit Setup Tool and Plinkit 2.9/Plone 2.5 -- coming soon
b. Skins & color schemes -- see note above about steering comm approval for custom programing
c. Recurring date will not be part of 2.5, see note above about steering comm. approval for custom programming
d. Added to collaborative site --> It is difficult to get in touch with Ryan, so we can try reverse engineering the 12 hour vs 24 hour modification & board of trustee template from the Illinois template, which has been posted. Also note the 2.5 migration error posted and the Kupu notes Steve posted. Thanks!
e. Any questions after looking at Unified installer for Plone 2.5 on plone.org. Steve has looked at this...Holly still needs to.
f. Status of Spellcheck options -- since this is not available in Kupu yet, Steve suggested using the firefow addon.
6. New stuff
Steve mentioned that Joel has posted his trainings for the summer, and he is hoping to attend one. We also talked about the recent slowness of the plinkit.org site.
